This machine design includes a single power-driven tool turret with two-sided tool positioning and a 10-axis CNC control that we can program the driven tools with the multiple axes. The DS-40 and DSY-40 turning centers combine dual-spindle turning the with C-Axis and live tooling create a powerful "done in one" machining solution. Off-center milling, drilling, and tapping operations are possible for increased machining capabilities. The opposed spindles support fully synchronized turning and allow on-the-fly part pass-off to reduce cycle times. These machines offer the widest selection of options at the very best value in its class. These dual spindle model lathes solve the challenges of machining the front and backside of parts 2 in diameter with the A2-6 on both spindles. This machine design includes a single power-driven tool turret with two-sided tool positioning and a 10-axis CNC control that we can program the driven tools with the multiple axes. These turning centers have an LS-200DBR 12-Station Servo Turret manufactured by Lio Shing one of the largest manufactures of turrets in Taiwan with a gear ratio of 1/30, Hydraulic power source: P=40 kg/CM2, and clamping force of 4,240. The design includes a three-piece type curvic clutch that ensures high precision accuracy. Tool holders are driven by a servomotor that features high torque output and low noise. Repeatability accuracy reaches 0.003 mm. 4,000 maximum high speed. The inside mechanism employs parallel cam, featuring high indexing accuracy and fast tool change. Turret clamping/ unclamping is operated through hydraulic power, assuring smooth motion and permitting for heavy-duty machining. The turret can be mounted at the right or left side with a random tool selection function. Our driven tool spindles can perform axial milling, drilling, boring, broaching, radial milling and gear hobbing, and tapping functions. The DS-40 uses the NEW 988TD CNC control is a dual-channel turning center CNC control developed by GSK Equipment Co., LTD. And is based on ARM+DSP dual-core hardware architecture by connecting with the industrial Ethernet bus with the (GSK-Link), the servo drives and a remote I/O unit. The 988TD can control up to 10 axis and 4 spindles, each path includes 6 feed axis (including C Axis) in each path, a 3-axis link, and 3 spindles to realize the turning with compound milling operations. Machine Tool Riser Plates:
Each model of GT gang lathes has a very low table for the original flat table, which has three T-Slots. Original table heights of the machines are as follows. GT-5 is at 45 mm or 1.77”; GT-7 begins at 55 mm, or 2.1”; the GT-10 starts at 70 mm or 2.7” center height; and the GT-15, which starts at 96 mm, or 3.77” center height. We offer custom length riser plates for the GT-15 models based on selected options, turrets, Y-Axis etc. The machines original table is 24” so if you want to use 3/4” tool holders on the entire travel of the models you would purchase two 12” riser that would cover the original T-slot of the machine. This flexibility allows us to install much larger live tool spindles and grinders on the machines and allows us to offer much stronger tool holders and tooling to compliment the larger motors and ball screws of the machines. Optional ½” center height riser tool plate tables available on request.

Tool Holders:
This section addresses the offering of tools that CNC New, Inc. offers for 3/4” Center Height Tooling. The GT-Series provides tool plate riser blocks that utilize the heavy-duty 3/4” center height tooling as the standard for each of the gang tool models. The Direct Mount Blocks allow for a simple and easy approach to tooling without any adjusting. The Dove Tail tooling system allows for some more versatile tooling options that can allow for quicker swapping between tool holders on a single Dove Tail Post but may require more time on initial set-up.
The fixed type blocks allow the use of a modular approach that provides the ability to "group" all, or part of a set-up for storage and reuse later. This approach can significantly reduce changeover times to a new job. The table located below illustrates some, but not all, of the available options. The largest block can accommodate 8 tools. The part numbers and pricing are all for 3/4” bore (but the 5/8” bore is available, as well).

The NSK “Astro” electric-driven live tool system is available as another option. Because they have electric motors, they put less of a demand for shop air compressors. The electric live tool motors can rotate forward or reverse. The controller governs right-hand or left-hand rotation. Electric options also offer more precise spindle speed control. Changes in incoming air pressure alter the spindle speed of a pneumatic motor but do not affect an electric system's spindle speed. These spindles are available in an outside diameter of the following sizes ø0.75”, ø0.79”, ø0.87” and ø0.98” (ø19.05, ø20, ø22 and ø25 mm). Spindle rpm 1,000-80,000 with 150 W output. These are single piece spindles and motors with shorter lengths which are ideal for use on gang tool lathes. The iSpeed3 series have sensor-less motors equipped with super precision hybrid ceramic bearings for longer life. CNC New, Inc. provides tool holders that mount these spindles in axial, radial, or vertical orientation. This option is an affordable option providing the use of two spindles with the system. With the E3000 Series, the spindles are available in both single motor/spindle combinations and also modular type where the spindle and motor are separate units screwed together. The diameters available include ø1.18”, ø0.98”, ø0.897 ø0.79” (ø30, ø25, ø22.8, and ø20 mm). A motor can rotate within the range of 5,000 rpm to the maximum output rating of the motor in increments of 1,000 rpm. Motors are available in speed ranges of up to 60,000 rpm. This option requires the purchase of a control unit and selector unit that supplies power and cooling to the motor mounted to the gang tool plate. The Astro E-3000 control has the capability of controlling four spindles, each with a unique speed setting (the spindles can not operate simultaneously). The addition of a communication cable is required if the operator desires to control spindle start/stop from within the part program.
The table below illustrates a partial list of choices available. In “Description” of motors: 350W = 350 watts (Power) “60K” = 60,000. Spindles come equipped with a 1/8” collet and chuck nut and two wrenches (with many other sizes available). All NSK live tooling systems include the spindle and a motor. The spindle contains the collet chuck that the cutting tool mounts to. Reduction gear units are available for electric spindles to increase cutting torque. When mounted, the reduction gear slows the rotation of the spindle proportionally. They are available in up to 16:1 ratio. Use of a reduction gear increases torque allowing for more aggressive cuts than possible when using only a spindle and motor. CNC New, Inc. provides tool holders that allow installing spindles in axial, radial, or vertical orientations. Single Bar Hydrodynamic Feeds:
CNC New, Inc. is now offering a very price-competitive solution for single bar hydrodynamic bar feed systems. There are many benefits operating a hydrodynamic system over pneumatic and mechanical systems. A hydrodynamic bar feed is safe, quiet, and provides quick changeovers. This bar feeder can handle material up to 1-3/4” diameter. We are offering a range of feed tubes to facilitate a range of sizes with less than 5-minute feed tube changeovers. We are offering two sizes of hydrodynamic systems to consider. The FB system can accommodate sizes from 4 mm to 26 mm, and the larger FT system can accommodate sizes from 7 mm to 45 mm. The feed tubes are engineered to work within an 8mm range of material. For example, the 18mm diameter feed tube could work with material down to 10 mm diameter. These are approximate estimations and will be impacted by type of material and straightness of the bars. The system is 12.5’ overall length and can accommodate material to a maximum length of 8.2’. We also recommend spindle liners with this item to maximize the support of the material as well as its quiet and safe operation.
